Course Structure:

A total of 10 Units (5 Core and 5 electives) must be completed and deemed competent to achieve the qualification BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management. The course units are indicated in the table below.

QUALIFICATION

Participants who achieve competency in any unit/s will receive a Statement of Attainment (provided USI is verified) for that unit/s without completing all 12 units in the qualification. Students completing all the required units of competency will attain full qualification.

Assessment Methodology

Assessment methods used for this qualification are varied and will provide a range of ways for individuals to demonstrate that they have met the required outcomes. Assessment methods may include:

  • Written questions
  • Projects
  • Presentations
  • Report writing
  • Role plays/observations

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/Credit Transfer (CT)

Melbourne College of Business and Technology (MCBT) will offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) to all prospective students through the enrolment process. MCBT has documented policies and procedures for these processes and students are provided details of how to apply for RPL or Credit Transfer through the enrolment process. Entry Requirements International Students

Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:
• Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions).
or
• Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

In addition to above, student must:
Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent or the successful completion of at least General English Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level.
Have a suitable level of language, literacy, and numeracy to complete course requirements with or without additional support that Melbourne College of Business and Technology is able to provide.
Have successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent.
Are at least at age of 18 on the date of course commencement.
Please Note: All the students commencing this course are required to complete LLN test on the orientation day to assist Melbourne College of Business and Technology to identify student’s needs for additional support during their study with Melbourne College of Business and Technology.
MCBT will review the student’s current competencies, student needs, English level, support requirements and oral communication skills in order to enrol them in the most appropriate course to achieve their intended outcomes.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test (LLN)
All students wanting to study at MCBT are required to undertake LLN Test prior to enrolment. Based on the test outcome, students may be identified as requiring internal support and/or external support.
Although a student is expected to have pre-developed LLN skills achieved through the prior qualification, still College will assess the student’s LLN skills to ensure that the student possesses sound LLN skills to complete the course successfully; therefore, students will be required to undertake LLN assessment.
LLN test will be conducted using an ACSF mapped online LLN assessment tool – LLN Robot. All students are required to undertake a language, literacy and numeracy test (LLN) according to the following qualification:

Students are required to achieve the expected level of performance level as per the required level. Where a student does not achieve the required LLN scores for the qualification into which they are seeking enrolment, another opportunity and LLN support* will be provided to the student.
*LLN support-If students do not meet the recommended English and/or LLN requirements, students will be referred for additional support, which will be provided by the College with ACSF Support Plan, or students may also be asked to take further Language, literacy and numeracy training, such as ELICOS programs to ensure that students are provided with support and proper guidance.

Computer literacy requirements
All students enrolling on this course at MCBT must have basic computer skills. Students are required to fill in the questions related to computer and internet skills in the Pre Enrolment Form provided along with the Application form.
Students who do not possess basic computing skills will be provided with a basic computer using support. Students can contact MCBT for any further information or assistance.
Materials and Equipment Required
MCBT will provide access to computers with required resources, including access to the internet during classroom hours; however, to work on the assignments and tasks for self-study, all students are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with the Windows 7 operating system or higher.
Students must have an active email address for communication and be contactable by phone (mobile or landline) and by mail (postal address). All students are expected to have access to MS office applications such as Microsoft Word and an email platform.
Note: If Required due to any emergency COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, Melbourne College of Business and Technology will use a flexible delivery mode for training and assessment, providing training package requirements allow for this. We would ensure that all regulatory requirements are met with as little disruptions possible. As circumstances change and restrictions are eased, these temporary arrangements will be reviewed, and enrolled students will be notified accordingly. Melbourne College of Business and Technology aims to review any changes in circumstances before commencement of each term so that it has least possible impact on students and course delivery. Melbourne College of Business and Technology will seek student’s consent of online delivery and assessment (where possible) prior to their enrolment during this Covid-19 outbreak restrictions.
