Once students have successfully completed BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management, they can apply for various roles across management positions that have responsibility for the work of other staff and lead teams.

The training and assessment strategy is a dynamic document. Hence it is regularly updated to consider changes in industry technology and techniques, legislation, and the training package itself, as well as the availability of resources within the College.
The strategy is consistent with the advertising and other material provided by MCBT to prospective students. Review of Training and Assessment strategies for all qualifications delivered by MCBT is conducted every six months to incorporate feedback received from stakeholders (students, employers and staff). The focus of the review is to ensure that delivery and assessment are conducted as per the training package requirements considering stakeholder feedback.

All comments, suggestions or amendments received are reviewed by Trainers/Assessors, RTO Manager and the CEO. These changes are then implemented when/if approved by MCBT’s CEO and recorded on MCBT’s Continuous Improvement Register.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/Credit Transfer (CT)
Melbourne College of Business and Technology (MCBT) will offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) to all prospective students through the enrolment process. MCBT has documented policies and procedures for these processes and students are provided details of how to apply for RPL or Credit Transfer through the enrolment process. For further details, please refer to RPL and Credit Transfer Policy and Procedure.
Entry Requirements International Students
There is no pre-requisites or specific entry requirement for this qualification. This course is available to all international students and Melbourne College of Business and Technology requires that students are able to provide evidence that they:
• Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 6.0 or equivalent or the successful completion of at least General English Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level.
• Have a suitable level of language, literacy, and numeracy to complete course requirements with or without additional support that Melbourne College of Business and Technology is able to provide.
• Have successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent.
• Are at least at age of 18 on the date of course commencement.
Please Note: All the students commencing this course are required to complete LLND test on the orientation day to assist Melbourne College of Business and Technology to identify student’s needs for additional support during their study with Melbourne College of Business and Technology.
MCBT will review the student’s current competencies, student needs, English level, support requirements and oral communication skills in order to enrol them in the most appropriate course to achieve their intended outcomes.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test (LLND)
All students wanting to study at MCBT are required to undertake the LLND Test prior to enrolment. Based on the test outcome, students may be identified as requiring internal support and/or external support.
Although a student is expected to have pre-developed LLND skills achieved through the prior qualification, still College will assess the student’s LLND skills to ensure that the student possesses sound LLND skills to complete the course successfully; therefore, students will be required to undertake LLND assessment.
LLND test will be conducted using an ACSF mapped online LLND assessment tool – LLND Robot. All students are required to undertake a language, literacy and numeracy test (LLND) according to the following qualification:
Students are required to achieve the expected level of performance as per the required level. Where a student does not achieve the required LLND scores for the qualification into which they are seeking enrolment, another opportunity and LLND support* will be provided to the student.
*LLND support-If students do not meet the recommended English and/or LLND requirements, students will be referred for additional support, which will be provided by the College with ACSF Support Plan, or students may also be asked to take further Language, literacy and numeracy training, such as ELICOS programs to ensure that students are provided with support and proper guidance.

Computer literacy requirements
All students enrolling on this course at MCBT must have basic computer skills. Students are required to fill in the questions related to computer and internet skills in the Pre Enrolment Form provided along with the Application form.
Students who do not possess basic computing skills will be provided with a basic computer using support. Students can contact MCBT for any further information or assistance.
Materials and Equipment Required
MCBT will provide access to computers with required resources, including access to the internet during classroom hours; however, to work on the assignments and tasks for self-study, all students are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with the Windows 7 operating system or higher.
Students must have an active email address for communication and be contactable by phone (mobile or landline) and by mail (postal address). All students are expected to have access to MS office applications such as Microsoft Word and an email platform.

- Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions) or
- Have two years of equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
- Have successfully students must have successfully completed year 12 or secondary studies in their home country equivalent to an Australian Year 12.
International students must have a good command of written and spoken English.
- Have demonstrated an IELTS level of at least 5.5 or equivalent or the successful completion of at least General English Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level.
- Have a suitable level of language, literacy, and numeracy to complete course requirements with or without additional support that Melbourne College of Business and Technology is able to provide.

You do not need to provide evidence of an English test score with your visa application if one of the following applies:
- you are a citizen and hold a passport from the UK, USA, Canada, NZ, or the Republic of Ireland
- you are an applicant who is a Foreign Affairs or, Defence sponsored student or a Secondary Exchange student (AASES)
- you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
- you have completed at least 5 years study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland in the 2 years before applying for the student visa, you completed, in Australia and the English language, either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate IV or higher level, while you held a student visa.
